June 26-July 16, Dharamsala: Foundation’s annual Gurukul Programme seeks to bring together the two communities of guru (teacher) and chela (student), and revive the centuries-old relationship of exchange of ideas between Indians and Tibetans. For over 20 years now, Gurukul has been able to provide a meaningful opportunity for university students in India to live in Dharamsala, the home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the headquarter of Central Tibetan Administration, for about a month, and receive an extended introduction to the different aspects of the life of the exiled Tibetan community and actively engage in daily activities – both religious and secular.
