The Foundation for Universal Responsibility of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, www.furhhdl.org, is organizing another Interschool Programme 2009 at Mussoorie. We are very happy to announce that Tibetan Homes Foundation School, www.tibhomes.org, is officially collaborating to host  this programme.

Interschool Programme is making its debut in this part of India, however, we have conducted 9 Interschool Programmes in Bylakuppe (Karnataka State) and 2 Interschool Programmes in Gopalpur (Himachal Pradesh).

Participating schools are:

Tibetan Children's Village School, Selakui
Tibetan Nehru Memorial School, Clement Town
Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School (Girls), Dehradune
Vasant Valley School, Delhi
Deewan Public School, Meerut
The Asian School, Dehradune

The Foundation has been trying to facilitate a cross cultural, multi-faceted interaction through it’s various initiatives. It is in this context that the Foundation is organizing Interschool Programme every year in Gopalpur, Mussoorie (North India) and Bylakuppe (South India). The basic idea of this is to bring the students of the two communities together and share the rich cultural heritage of their respective communities. The Indian schools are invited from all over the country and Tibetan schools from the neighboring areas of the host school. The project involves debate, interactions, lecture by eminent people, hand on involvement community projects and visit to various sites of cultural and educational interests around the host school.
