To express his gratitude to the Government and the people of India and to mark 50th anniversary of his exile in 2009, His Holiness the Dalai Lama prayed at eight different places of worhsip in delhi. This special pilgrimage started at Mahatma Gandhi's memorial at Rajghat and moved on to a Jain temple, a Sufi shrine, the Judah Hyam Synagogue, Gurudwara Rakabganj, the Hindu Laxmi Naryan Temple, a church and the Maha Bodhi Socity.
His Holiness was joined by representatives of various religious faiths in the prayer for 'peace and happiness fro Indian and its people' for hosting the Tibetan leader and his exiled community since March 1959.
His Holiness very often says that India and its people are the source of Tibet's rich heritage. So 'today', said, 'the Chela will celebrate and pray for the Guru'.
