invites applications for up to five
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR GRADUATE &
POST GRADUATE STUDIES
for TIBETAN STUDENTS IN INDIA
The Scholarships are available for the duration of professional courses
in any discipline at top ranking institutions of excellence in India.
Applications will be accepted till September 30th 2008.
Candidates should apply immediately after they have secured confirmed admission.
We will try and respond to applications within two weeks of their submission to
ensure that selected candidates are able to accept their offers of admission.
Submit a copy of your admission letter (if available), details about the course, copies (applicant & parents) of the updated RC (residential Certificate) and Green Book,
degree & prospectus of the institution, along with copies of all your mark sheets,
& results of any public selection or eligibility examination, details of fees,
hostel & other living expenses & a personal CV.
Also send us a 500 word essay in English telling us why you wish to pursue the course
& what do you see yourself doing ten years from now.
Students who are eligible for partial funding from other sources
such as the Department of Education, TCV etc will be eligible
only for the balance amount they might need. Please provide details.

To Commemorate
50 YEARS IN EXILE
THE FOUNDATION FOR UNIVERSAL RESPONSIBILITY
of HH The Dalai Lama
invites proposals for up to fifteen
TAKE OFF GRANTS
to encourage and facilitate Tibetans to articulate & express themselves
their personal experiences of exile, their memories of the Tibet they have left behind,
their dreams for the future – both personal and for their country.
These could take any form – essays, novels, short films,
poetry, music, painting, photography, theatre etc.
The Foundation will curate and present these
at a Festival of Tibetan Arts in early 2009
Applications will be accepted till May 31st 2008.
The proposal may be submitted in any format.
Tell us all that you feel will convince the Foundation that your project is worth supporting.
We are looking for personal passion, intellectual rigour and demonstrable creativity
Please submit your detailed proposal telling us about yourself,
what you would like to do and why you think we should support you.
Give us an idea of what you would like to communicate
& the form(s) the communication will take, including
the nature, number, duration etc. of the final product .
Please provide copies (applicant & parents) of the updated
RC (residential Certificate) and Green Book.
Grants will be limited to Rs 50,000 for individuals & Rs 100,000 to organised groups,
to cover actual expenses and a modest personal allowance for the duration of the project
Only a few will receive the maximum amount.
In all cases we will need reasonable and well argued budgets.

Interfaith Dialogue Programme |
Interfaith Dialogue Programme
The Foundation is organizing a twelve day programme to embrace religious diversity, build cross-cultural understanding and encourage spiritual growth through the firsthand exploration of different faith traditions.
Program Overview: The programme will include lectures, discussion and films on religious tenants, practices, rituals and history of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam & Jainism. Participants will spend 2 days at each center of the respective faiths and have the opportunity to participate in various rituals.

18 - 35 years; College Students & Working Professionals |

15 applicants will be selected for the programme
Note: The Foundation will cover expenses for travel, food and lodging during the programme. Participants traveling from outstations will need to cover their own expenses to and from Bangalore.

Gurukul Programme |
Gurukul Programme
The Foundation is organizing a month long Gurukul Programme in Dharamsala, North India, in which students are exposed to the monastic tradition, Tibetan culture and are encourage to teach and help the monks and nuns and share their insights.
Program Overview: During the stay participants will be able to learn and experience the local community, Tibetan Art, Literature, Buddhist Philosophy, dance, music and many more

Interschool Programme |
Interschool Programme
The Foundation has been trying to facilitate a cross cultural, multi-faceted interaction through it’s various initiatives. In this context, the Foundation is organizing Interschool Programme every year in Dharamsala, North India or Bylakuppe, South India. The basic idea of this project is to bring the students of the different communities together and share the rich cultural heritage of each community.
Program Overview: Lectures, Discussions, Film Festival, Debate (not in its conventional sense:
sort of more interactive in nature), Skit Play, Traditional Dance & Music, Traditional Art (painting, carving, statue making, Costumes), travel, adventure, Workshop Conflict Resolution, Interfaith Dialogue, Guided Meditation, To observe and be a part of the community around and involve in local community projects, Visit Various Religious Centers
